Teenage boy arrested after man shot with pellet gun in Gloucester

Police have arrested a teenage boy in connection with an assault by an air gun in Gloucester last month.

It follows a report that a large group of youths were engaging in anti-social behaviour in Gloucester Docks on the afternoon of Saturday 14 September.

The group had been attempting to enter a shop and, when they were challenged, one of the group had fired pellets at the owner.

Police put a dispersal order in place for Gloucester Docks at the weekend to tackle anti-social behaviour in the area.

The Section 34 order ran from Saturday 28 September until Monday 30 September.

It was put in place after reports that a group of youths on bicycles were causing a nuisance around the city centre.

Sergeant Jade Chetcuti from the Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "A number of youths on bicycles have been causing problems of anti-social behaviour for a number of weeks in this part of the city.

"Their irresponsible behaviour is a nuisance to people who have a right to live in and visit our city without fear.

"This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and any offences will be dealt with robustly.”

A 15-year-old boy from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of possessing an air gun with the intent to cause fear of violence. He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
