A man was arrested last week after multiple teams from across the force worked together to locate him.
Police were contacted on Thursday 10 October with a report that a man armed with a knife had made threats towards staff at a premises in Gloucester.
Officers from the Local Policing team began enquiries to identify and locate the man and during this a vehicle linked to him activated an ANPR camera in the city.
While searches were taking place another report came in where it was alleged that the same man had assaulted and harassed someone known to him.
A car belonging to the man was located and stopped by Roads Policing officers and the man was seen to run away before disappearing into a nearby alleyway.
The man quickly returned to his car, carrying a mobile phone in his hand, and drove away.
The vehicle was stopped nearby and the man was arrested in connection with the previously reported offences.
While this took place a new report came in where a man reported that he had been robbed of his mobile phone by the same man.
A phone believed to belong to the victim was found in the vehicle and while being searched a knife was found on the man.
A 40-year-old man from Cheltenham was subsequently arrested on suspicion of harassment, possession of an offensive weapon and robbery.
He has since been released on police bail with conditions not to enter Gloucester or contact three people while enquiries continue.
