Police have issued an appeal to locate a man who is believed to have sustained injuries in a serious incident in Cheltenham earlier today, Sunday 20 October.
Officers attended an address in Larput Place in St Paul's at around 11.30am and on arrival became aware of a fire inside an address.
Emergency services attended and a man who was inside the property was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
It is understood that a second man may have sustained injuries but left the location prior to emergency services attending, and police are urgently trying to find him as he may require medical assistance.
The man officers want to find is described as being white, of an athletic build, medium length brown hair with a cropped back and sides and aged approximately 40.
He was wearing a dark Nike hoody with a yellow tick and white writing on the back.
Enquiries are taking place in the area and a man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and assaulting an emergency worker.
Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist, is asked to contact police by calling 101 and quoting incident 145 of 20 October.
