A man has died after being found on a road in Gloucester during the early hours of this morning, Sunday 24 November.
Police heading to another incident had discovered the man on Painswick Road, Matson, at around 12.15am.
Despite attempts by officers and paramedics, a 38-year-old man from Matson was declared dead at the scene. His next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
Closures remain on Painswick Road, close to the junction with Heron Way and Norbury Avenue, so investigators can examine the scene.
Officers have also conducted house-to-house enquiries and are examining CCTV footage. They would like to speak to anyone who may have an information about the events leading up to the death or who has CCTV which they believe to be relevant.
