Closure on the M5 following concern for welfare

The M5 has been closed in both directions between junctions 9 and 8 due to a police incident this morning (Saturday 2 November).
Officers were called to junction 9 northbound shortly after 6.05am following concerns for the welfare of an individual.
A closure is in place while emergency services remain at the scene.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
