A man was treated for his injuries at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital
Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was left with serious injuries following an assault in Gloucester earlier this month.
Police were called at around 3.50am on Friday 1 November with a report than a man had attacked another man in the city centre.
It was reported that a man and woman had left Trilogy Nightclub on Eastgate Street and were walking to the junction of Bruton Way when an unknown male approached them.
The male then repeatedly punched the victim in the face before fleeing from the scene.
The victim was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.
Investigating officers believe there may have been a number of people in the area at the time of the incident and are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed what happened.
Anyone with relevant mobile phone or dashcam footage is also being asked to come forward.
