Four men and a 16-year-old boy are in police custody after being arrested in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of going equipped to steal.
At around 2.15am today (Thursday 2 May), officers stopped a car on Sheep Street, Stow-on-the-Wold after they smelt a strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed angle grinders, head torches, balaclavas, gloves and replacement number plates – items which could be used to commit a burglary.
Four men from Bristol, aged between 22 and 26 and a 16-year-old boy, also from Bristol, were arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal and possession of a class B drug.
They remain in police custody for questioning.
Investigating officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area last night to get in contact.
