Officers are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle collision on the B4066 in Nympsfield near Stonehouse earlier this month.
Police were called following a report that a blue Mini Cooper had left the road by the Bristol and Gloucestershire Gliding Club and collided with a tree at around 13.35pm on Monday 13 May.
The driver of the vehicle - a woman in her 40s - sustained serious injuries and was transported by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
Officers would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage which they believe to be relevant.
