There was a visible police presence in the Springbank area of Cheltenham yesterday, Monday 24 June, as officers responded to an incident.
We were called to Grenadier Road shortly after 6.30pm with a report that two males in a car were making threats to harm others while armed with a machete.
Shortly afterwards it was also reported that the occupants of the car had been in collision with an electric pushbike. The riders of the bike were not believed to have sustained any serious injuries.
Firearms officers conducted searches in the area before locating two men. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and a 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of affray.
They remain in police custody at this time.
A weapon was not found with enquiries continuing. Officers are asking anyone with mobile phone, doorbell or CCTV footage to get in contact.
