ORIGINAL: The A40 Golden Valley bypass in Cheltenham is currently closed due to a concern for welfare incident.
Officers were called at 10.55am with a report that a man had sustained injuries after falling from an over bridge.
He has been taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment to serious injuries.
Closures are in place between the Elmbridge Court roundabout, Arle Court roundabout and M5 Gloucester bound slip road.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
