Officers investigating a suspected robbery in Stroud town centre at the end of last month are asking for any potential witnesses to come forward.
The 54-year-old victim sustained cuts to his face, facial fractures and broken ribs during the incident on Tuesday 28 May. He requires further medical treatment.
It is not known where exactly the incident happened, but the victim was found on the floor injured outside Betfred on the High Street just before midday.
His wallet, which contained nearly £200 in cash, was also missing.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area between around 11am and 12.10pm that day who may have information which could assist the investigation.
