Officers are appealing for witnesses after two parked cars were set alight in Matson, Gloucester.
The incident happened in Whiteway Road just after 10pm on Friday 8 December.
The fire service attended and extinguished a Vauxhall and BMW on the road and there was a small amount of damage to both vehicles.
One male was seen running away from the scene at the time and he is described as tall, possibly in his 20s, with dark hair and wearing a grey tracksuit.
House to house and CCTV enquiries have been carried out in the area and forensic and other checks are ongoing. However officers still need anyone with information to come forward.
