A man from Tewkesbury has been arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure following an incident inside Tewkesbury Abbey over the weekend.
On Sunday police received a report that a man was seen with his hand in his trousers and it is believed that he was masturbating.
The incident happened around 5.30pm and a woman, who was with her two children at the time, confronted the man.
Police were informed and a 43-year-old man was arrested the following day on suspicion of indecent exposure. He was later released on police bail with conditions to not go to the Abbey.
While the investigation is ongoing, police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what took place or who has any information which could assist.
