Police are appealing for information after a man was reported to have harassed and repeatedly assaulted a woman in Cirencester.
The incident happened in and around 17 Black on Castle Street in the early hours of Thursday morning (19 December).
A man had approached a woman who he did not know at the bar at around 1am and begun a conversation.
Following the conversation, the woman has then made her way alone to the Brewery car park but, as she returned to the venue, the man stopped her. He began shouting at her and placed his hands around her throat.
He then dragged her down an alley close to Coffee #1 where he made threats towards her.
She was able to get away from him and head back to the bar. She later tried to return to the alley to check if she had dropped any items, where she encountered the man again.
He has once again grabbed the victim by the throat before attempting to sexually assault her by trying to touch her bottom. He stopped when two women passing the alley challenged him.
The man then followed the woman back to the bar and began harassing her. A group of men intervened, at which point the suspect became aggressive and began throwing bottles at them before leaving the venue.
Officers would like to identify the man and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing and CCTV will be reviewed.
He is described as being a white man, aged from around his mid-30s to early 40s, and around 5ft 11in in height. He was of a large build and had short brown hair and stubble.
The suspect was wearing a black jacket, a white t-shirt and black trousers. He spoke with a London accent and had a gap between his front teeth.
