Three men charged following firearms incident in Cheltenham

Three men have been charged in connection with a firearms incident which took place in Cheltenham over the weekend.

Jamie Curran, aged 34 and of Cambridge Avenue in Cheltenham, has been charged with having a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Nathan Edwards, aged 35 and of no fixed abode, has also been charged with having a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Jason Marks, aged 48 and of Norfolk Avenue in Cheltenham, has been charged with assisting an offender.

All three men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 12 August).

The charges relate to a report of an aggravated burglary involving a firearm which took place on Saturday night (10 August).

Four other people, two men and two women, who were also arrested in connection with the incident have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
