Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident which happened near the Abbey Grounds park in Cirencester on Saturday night (24 August).
Shortly after 9pm a member of the public reported to an officer on patrol that there was an altercation happening in the cemetery behind the Parish Church of St John Baptist.
It was reported that a teenage girl had pinned another girl to the ground and she was punching her.
Officers attended and a 15-year-old girl was detained. She was later released to her parent while further enquiries take place.
The victim had already left the scene by the time officers arrived, and they are asking for her to come forward as they want to check on her welfare.
Due to the officers rushing to get to the scene, they did not take the details of the witness who first reported the incident, and they are keen to also speak to this person.
If you know who either of these people are, you can let police know by completing the following online form and quoting incident 396 of 24 August: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/
