Van driven into Hester's Way police station

Due to an incident at Hester’s Way police station in Cheltenham last night the public reception is not open today (Monday 15 April).

 

We were called shortly after 9pm with a report that a vehicle had been reversed at speed into the station on Princess Elizabeth Way.

 

The driver then fled from the vehicle, a white van, on foot and went in the direction of Marsland Road.

 

The driver was described as wearing a balaclava, a dark jacket and light coloured trousers.

 

It's believed this was done intentionally using a suspected stolen vehicle. No arrests have been made at this time.

 

Some damage has been caused to the doors of the building and due to this access unfortunately cannot be gained by the public until they are fixed.

 

We therefore ask for anyone who was wanting to attend the station to report incidents online on our website instead (https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/) or call 999 in the case of an emergency. The building is otherwise open for police staff as normal.
