A scene guard is currently in place following a serious assault on Southgate Street in Gloucester.
Police were called shortly after 7pm yesterday (Sunday 7 April) with a report that a man had been punched sustaining serious head injuries. He was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment where he remains today in a serious condition.
Two men, aged 26 and 24, and both from Gloucester, have been arrested in connection with the incident. They remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
The area was busy at the time of the incident and officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity or who has dashcam footage which they believe to be relevant.
