Request a collision report
Please note: if you submitted a road traffic incident report on this site, you'll be able to download a copy of your report once you've submitted it. That report is a collision report. You can then send that report to your insurance company or solicitor.
If you're a solicitor or an insurance agent, you can apply on behalf of your client for a copy of any existing collision reports the police have made or hold, or request an interview with the police officer who dealt with the road traffic collision, as long as it's been investigated.
Individuals can also apply for collision reports if they're representing themselves in civil proceedings.
How to apply and what it will cost
Print and complete our 'Request a collision report' form below. You'll need the police reference number.
You can request extra details, such as a vehicle examination report – find the full list and what each item will cost in the 'Collision report charges' document below.

Please note, collision reports are supplied at the discretion of the chief constable.

We can only accept payment by BACS. If you or your solicitor don't already have a BACS agreement with us, please complete the 'BACS payment request form' below and either email or post it to us.
Please note, if you don't have a BACS agreement with us, we can't send you the information you request.
How long does it take?
If you’re requesting a copy of the report it can take up to 12 weeks for us to process your request.
If you’re requesting the details of a third party it can take up to 21 days for us to process your request.
