‘Volunteer Cyber Safety Champions’ will support and enhance the Constabulary’s effort to deliver the Safer Cyber message to community groups, businesses, schools and at events around the county.
Cyber is an area that continues to grow as organised crime groups both within and outside of the UK move towards cyber-crime as a viable, and financially lucrative, activity. With new technology comes the potential for the criminal fraternity to attempt new criminal endeavours and there is a constant battle being fought by law enforcement agencies to protect our communities and reduce the risk of them becoming victims of crime.
This role is flexible for the volunteer, and will be built around their availability. There will be scope to deliver some presentations in the evening; however, any training that the volunteer needs to be given will most likely have to be administered in the daytime on a weekday.
Familiarisation of constabulary procedures and training for use of any specific
systems within the organisation will be given.
