If the answer is yes to above then we would like to hear from you.
Our local policing teams frequently need to collect CCTV evidence from shops and businesses after crimes have been reported.
In this role you will work closely with the station point of contact, who will let you know when a small run of CCTV evidence needs collecting. You will then need to attend the station to understand the full details of what evidence needs to be collected. Then you will be asked to retrieve the relevant documents and CCTV from the businesses and safely return them to the station point of contact. You will be able to use one of our Constabulary pool cars to collect the evidence (subject to vetting and training).
This is a very important voluntary role in the Constabulary as this allows Police Officers continue with other duties knowing that vital CCTV evidence will be collected.
Training will include learning how to fill in pro forma statements. You will also learn to understand the importance of continuity. You will be assisted by the station point of contact throughout your role.
In addition to this, you will be vetted and assessed by the Constabulary’s Driver Training Unit. This is because you will be representing the Constabulary and driving our vehicles, so high standards must be maintained.
