A motorcyclist has died following a collision on the A40 between Compton Abdale and Shipton Oliffe yesterday (Saturday 21 March) and police are appealing for witnesses.
The incident happened on the dual carriageway section and involved two motorcycles.
A black Honda CBF and a red Honda CBR were both travelling towards Andoversford when the collision occurred at around 1.40pm.
A man aged in his 50s and from Witney, Oxfordshire sustained serious injuries and was conveyed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by air ambulance.
Sadly he died yesterday evening as a result of his injuries.
The second motorcyclist, a man also aged in his 50s and from Abingdon, Oxfordshire sustained injuries and was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he remains.
Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or the motorcycles prior to the incident.
Anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage is also asked to make contact with police by calling 101 and quoting incident 206 of 21 March.
