A Tewkesbury woman has been banned from shops across the county after repeatedly shoplifting.
Victoria Grimmett, aged 32 and of Court Farm Close in Pamington, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates Court last Tuesday (13 June) where she received a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) after admitting nine counts of theft from a shop.
The court heard how Grimmett had stolen various items from premises in Tewkesbury, Winchcombe and Bishops Cleeve. On one occasion she entered the BP Garage in Ashchurch with an empty suitcase and was stopped by an employee to prevent her from stealing anything.
The three year order against Grimmett prevents her from entering any retail premises in Gloucestershire with the exception of:
Breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order has a maximum sentence of 5 years imprisonment.
PC Jill Bundock said: "Grimmett has been a prolific shoplifter across Gloucestershire and I am hopeful that this injunction will put businesses at ease.
"This order shows our dedication to targeting shoplifting and we hope this shows other shoplifters that we will not tolerate their actions."
