Scene guard in connection with sexual assault of elderly woman in own home

A scene guard is currently in place at a property in the Hucclecote area of Gloucester while police investigate a sexual assault.

Police were contacted just after 5.20pm today, Saturday 5 March, with a report that an elderly woman had been sexually assaulted within her home.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody at this time.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
