Police have closed Witcombe Hill, also known as the Old Birdlip Hill following a serious collision.
Emergency services were called just before midnight with a report of a single vehicle collision.
A closure has been put into place at the junction for the B4070 Witcombe Hill and at the bottom of Birdlip Hill while emergency services remain at the scene.
We’d originally said the A417 was closed however this stretch of road is open, albeit with delays.
These are expected to remain in place for a number of hours with motorists asked to plan their route in advance and avoid the area.
Anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police is asked to submit information by completing the following online form quoting incident 563 of 6 July: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/
