A new dispersal order to tackle anti-social behaviour in the Love Lane area of Cirencester begins at midnight tonight (Friday 27 May).
The Section 34 order will run from midnight tonight until midnight on Sunday (29 May).
The order is to prevent further anti-social behaviour from people and vehicles gathering in the Love Lane and industrial estate area.
Officers can direct any groups of two or more to leave the area for 24 hours when they believe the behaviour of the group is likely to result in members of the public being harassed, alarmed or distressed.
Cotswolds Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Simon Ellson said: "We have been experiencing problems of anti-social behaviour in the Love Lane area from car meet ups and large gatherings congregating, often at weekends.
"These gatherings and the anti-social behaviour they bring drain a lot of police resources, and intimidate and harass both businesses and members of the public .
"This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and those identified will be dispersed and any offences will be dealt with robustly."
