Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a serious assault in Cheltenham yesterday evening (Tuesday 7 September).
The incident happened in the Minster St Mary's churchyard just off the High Street at around 8.20pm when a teenage boy assaulted a 17-year-old boy with a glass bottle causing him serious injuries.
The victim was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he continues to be treated for his injuries.
Two 15-year-old boys from Cheltenham were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody.
Officers are looking for any witnesses to the attack and would like to speak to anybody who was in the area at the time or who has any information regarding the incident which could help with their enquiries.
Police cordons are in place at the scene while officers continue with the investigation.
