An arrest has been made by officers investigating the assault of a man in Cheltenham last week.
A 21-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested in Torquay this morning (Wednesday 1 June) by officers.
He was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.
Police were contacted on Friday evening (27 May) as a man had arrived at hospital after being wounded with a knife. He was treated for a hand wound and later discharged.
The assault is believed have taken place within a vehicle parked on Lipson Road.
Police attended and recovered a knife sheath but could not locate the alleged offender despite conducting searches in the surrounding area.
Officers are continuing to investigate the assault and anyone who hasn't already spoken to police is asked to please get in contact.
