Shortly before 5am today, Friday 17 April, police were called to a report of a man climbing a garden fence in Cheltenham Road, Gloucester.
Officers attended and a number of cannabis plants were found discarded on Denmark Road and a man was subsequently arrested.
A nearby property on London Road had been broken in to and was found to contain a large amount of cannabis plants.
The three story building was searched by officers and the police helicopter was deployed to search for any one else in connection with the incident.
A 27-year-old man from Gloucester who was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of a class B drug remains in police custody.
Police remain at the scene.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 55 of 17 April.
