Police appeal for witnesses after a man and a woman were arrested in connection with an incident where a man suffered stab wounds to his back earlier this morning, Thursday 12 August.
At 11.20am police were called by the ambulance service with a report that a man aged in his 30s had sustained a suspected stab wound in Barton Street, Gloucester.
He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by the ambulance service and is being treated for his injuries which at this time are not thought to be life threatening.
A man in his 40s from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a woman in her 30s from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, both remain in police custody for questioning.
Cordons are in place in connection with the incident.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage or CCTV in the area at the time.
