A custody extension has been granted by a Superintendent for a man who had been arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder.
Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Gloucester have been given until tomorrow, Wednesday 9 August, to continue questioning a man in his 30s and from Gloucester in connection with the incident.
Emergency services had been called to Arthur Street in the city shortly after 1.05am on Sunday with a report that a man had been stabbed.
A man, in his 50s and from Gloucester, was treated by paramedics and later died from his injuries.
The Major Crime Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are asking anyone with information which could assist to make contact.
