A community meeting which was due to happen in Rodborough this evening (Wednesday 3 August) has unfortunately had to be rescheduled.
We apologise for the short notice of this – work has been ongoing to find a more suitable location and a new date has been set for next Tuesday evening, 9 August.
The initial meeting was arranged to take place at Rodborough Community Hall following a request from the Parish Council, as concerns had been raised to them around safety in the local community after it was alleged a man raped a woman.
However, the anticipated numbers of attendees are now much larger than initially expected, and there is not the capacity for this at the community hall.
Due to the clear strength of feeling in this important and serious issue, we felt a more suitable location was required so that those who wanted to attend are able to.
It is important that partners are also present at the meeting, as tackling violence and intimidation against women and girls is a multi-agency approach.
The event, to discuss recent incidents against women and women's safety in Stroud has been rescheduled and is now due to take place on Tuesday 9 August at the Stroud Subscription Rooms. The community meeting will begin at 6.45pm for a 7pm start.
We would like to thank the community for their expressed interest in this topic and the community support they have shown. We welcome the opportunity to listen and discuss violence against women and girls and how we can work alongside our partner agencies to tackle it.
