The Tewkesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team is holding two days of ‘Your Community - Your team’ engagement events to re- engage with local communities, look at ongoing issues and concerns and working to build stronger communities and links.
This will see officers visit Bishop’s Cleeve next Monday (5 July) and Northway next Tuesday (6 July) along with colleagues from a number of partner agencies.
Monday’s event will be taking place within the car park of Lidl in Bishop’s Cleeve from 10am to 4pm and will see local officers in attendance as well as Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, Trading Standards, Rooftop Housing, Sovereign Housing, Anti-social behaviour officers from the local council, Neighbourhood Watch and the Constabulary’s Better Together Team.
Harm reduction officers will be free to offer crime prevention advice and discuss any issues that local residents may have with Fire officers engaging with the public and giving home safety advice as well as booking in visits to fit smoke alarms and signposting or referring to other agencies.
Trading Standards will also be giving advice about scams and how to prevent yourself from becoming a victim of fraud.
Tuesday’s event will be taking place at the Northway Co-Op car park in the morning. Colleagues from the fire service, Trading Standards, Bromford Housing and local officers will be in attendance along with the Community Engagement Vehicle.
PCSO Farah Devji-Large, who organised the events, said: “Community Engagement events are a great way to work with local communities whilst making sure that we reach every resident to provide crime prevention and fire safety advice.
“I am hopeful that next week’s events are something that local residents will be interested in as the communities of Bishop’s Cleeve, Northway and Twyning are areas that we regularly visit.
“The events will essentially encourage the community to come together and help us address any issues that we may not already be aware of and the team is looking forward to meeting everyone next week”.
