Officers investigating a suspected assault in Cheltenham have issued CCTV footage of a number of witnesses they would like to identify and speak to.
Shortly after 1.30am on Sunday 10 July police were called with a report of an assault involving a man and a woman outside HSBC bank on High Street.
A group of five men intervened to help the victim before they were threatened and chased by the man. Officers believe they may have crucial information to help the investigation.
A witness appeal was issued days after the incident however no responses were received so officers are now releasing the footage in a bid for the men to come forward.
Investigating officers would like to reassure the men that they are being treated as witnesses and not suspects.
A man aged in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident and an investigation is ongoing at this time.
Officers are asking the men shown in the CCTV footage or anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn't spoken to police to please make contact.
