An arrest has been made in connection with the sexual assault of a woman in Stroud yesterday (Friday 22 July).
A 41-year-old man from Stroud was arrested on suspicion of rape earlier today (Saturday 23 July) and remains in police custody at this time.
Police had received a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted on the B4066 Dudbridge Road at around midday yesterday (Friday).
A scene guard which was put into place in the area yesterday has since been lifted.
Investigating officers remain keen to hear from anyone with information who hasn't yet been in contact.
