A teenager is in custody on suspicion of robbery today following a speedy and co-ordinated response by police.
Officers were called to Tesco Metro on Mead Road, Abbeymead shortly after 9.20pm last night (Monday) following reports of a robbery.
It was reported that a teenager entered the supermarket before threatening employees with a weapon and leaving with a quantity of cash.
Officers were quick to attend and conducted searches of the area before locating and arresting a 17-year-old boy from Gloucester on suspicion of robbery.
A quantity of cash and a weapon were recovered as part of the arrest.
