An arrest has been made in connection with a sexual assault on the A38 near Norton last week.
A 25-year-old man from Worcester was arrested on Saturday (25 June) on suspicion of rape.
Police had received a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted between 5pm and 6pm last Monday (20 June).
The incident happened in the vicinity of a layby, which is near the New Dawn Inn pub, on Tewkesbury Road in Gloucester.
The man who was arrested has since been released on police bail with conditions while the investigation continues.
Investigating officers remain keen to hear from anyone who was travelling along the A38 in Norton and witnessed a dark coloured or black car parked in a layby.
They are also particularly keen to hear from anyone who travelled on the road and has dashcam footage.
