Officers are appealing for witnesses to the unprovoked attack of a deaf woman during a road rage incident which took place in Tetbury this morning, Monday 31 January.
It was reported that the driver of a car was assaulted by a motorcyclist during an incident which took place outside Westonbirt Arboretum at around 6.55am.
The driver of the car stated that she was driving along the A433 when a motorcycle pulled out behind her, she continued driving before pulling over to stop for medical reasons.
The rider of the motorbike was a distance away and continued down the road before turning around and confronting her.
The woman is deaf and tried to explain why she had pulled over before the man swung her car door open and became verbally abusive. He then punched her in the face leaving swelling, bruises and reddening.
The motorcyclist drove off in the direction of Didmarton and was described as being a white man who was wearing dark clothing and had a black cross tattoo on his right middle knuckle.
The woman has been taken to hospital by a relative for her facial injuries to be assessed.
Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area this morning and may have seen what happened or who has dashcam footage.
