The homeowner, a man in his 80s, grabbed the offender in an attempt to stop him from leaving and fell during this suffering a wound to his head which required hospital treatment. He has since been discharged.
It is believed that the offender gained access to the rear of the property. He searched the house and stole a number of silver ingots plus a gold and enamel Cartier watch before being disturbed and leaving.
