Officers are appealing for witnesses as a homeowner was injured after disturbing an offender who had broken into their Cheltenham home.
Police were called to Montpellier Parade shortly before 2.40am on Monday morning (5 July) after it was reported that homeowners had found an unknown man in their house.
The homeowner, a man in his 80s, grabbed the offender in an attempt to stop him from leaving and fell during this suffering a wound to his head which required hospital treatment. He has since been discharged.
