Officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision which took place in Charlton Kings yesterday morning (Thursday).
Police were called to the A40 London Road shortly before 6.45am following reports that a motorcyclist and Volvo had collided near to the junction for Chase Avenue.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s and from the local area was later taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with injuries that were deemed to be serious and he remains there at this time.
The driver of the Volvo, also from the local area, was uninjured.
Officers investigating the collision would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it, was in the area at the time or may have dashcam footage.
