Officers in Gloucester are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted during an altercation last month.
Police were called to Barton Street in Gloucester shortly before 1.30pm on Thursday 8 July after it was reported that an altercation had taken place outside Vauxhall Stores.
The victim, a man in his 30s, sustained a head injury after being hit with an unknown item and was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment before being discharged.
This is believed to be an isolated incident as the men are known to each other.
Investigating officers are asking anyone who was in the area at the time or has information to please come forward.
A 29-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on police bail to allow further enquiries to take place.
