Appeal for witnesses after litter picker was assaulted in Gloucester

Officers are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Gloucester yesterday sustaining facial injuries.
It was reported that a man who had been litter picking on Trier Way at around 6am was assaulted after disturbing a man who was rummaging through his bag.
The victim, who was wearing a high vis jacket, had challenged the man about what he was doing before being punched to the face.
The man, who is in his 70s, required medical attention for his injuries.
The offender was described as wearing a grey and black hoodie, black trousers and carrying a yellow JD Sports bag.
Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the assault or who was travelling in the area and has dashcam footage to make contact.
