Gloucestershire Constabulary is appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted in Gloucester earlier this week.
Police were contacted on Monday evening (23 August) at around 11pm with a report that a woman had been approached by a man in Barton Street who then followed her to Regent Street where he sexually assaulted her, picked her up and carried her a distance before she was able to get away.
Officers from the Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team are now taking part in reassurance patrols of the area.
A 23-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been charged with kidnap and sexual assault.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on Thursday 16 September.
Despite the arrest and charge, investigating officers still need anyone who was in the areas of Barton Street and Regent Street at around 11pm on Monday to please get in contact.
