Officers are appealing for witnesses to a robbery which took place in Gloucester last night (Monday 2 October).
Police were called to the canal path on Llanthony Road by the docks shortly after 9.45pm with a report that a man had been robbed of his electric scooter.
It was reported that the man was near Gloucestershire College when he was approached by two teenagers who threatened him with a metal pole and a knife.
A scuffle ensued in which the man was hit with the metal pole and his electric scooter was stolen.
The teens were described as wearing all black clothing and left the area on the stolen scooter. Investigating officers believe that those involved are known to each other.
Officers conducted searches of the area and located a boy nearby who was in possession of a scooter which matched the description given.
A 16-year-old boy was subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in police custody at this time.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify anyone else involved and officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area at this time and has not yet spoken to police to make contact.
Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who has mobile phone or dashcam footage of the incident.
