Collision investigators are appealing for information after an injured cyclist was found on the B4632 Cleeve Hill last night, Saturday 16 July.
At around 9.20pm police were called with a report that an injured cyclist, a man aged in his 60s and from Cheltenham, had been discovered.
Despite the best efforts of members of the public and emergency services who attended, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.
Police would like to thank those who stopped at the scene to help.
Road closures are in place on the B4632 between Gambles Lane and Southam, and these are anticipated to remain in place until mid-morning.
Collision investigators are working to establish what took place and whether any other vehicles were involved.
They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or who saw any cyclists travelling down Cleeve Hill at around that time to make contact with police.
Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage or who may have witnessed a collision.
