A warrant of further detention has been granted today (Sunday 3 July) for a 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder.
Officers have been given more time to continue questioning the man. The custody extension will come to an end tomorrow evening (Monday 4 July).
Emergency services had been called to an address in Barton, Gloucester, shortly after 9am on Friday (1 July).
A man aged in his 50s was pronounced deceased at the scene and a murder investigation was launched.
Road closures on Vauxhall Road and Barton Street have now been lifted.
Officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the murder and anyone with information which could assist is asked to contact police.
