A man has been jailed following three burglaries from businesses in Cheltenham this week.
Jake Ahmed, aged 20 and of Evenlode Avenue, Cheltenham pleaded guilty to the thefts from a company in High Street on Tuesday (20 April) and two further properties in Hewlett Road and Priors Road on Wednesday (21 April).
Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team, Local Policing Team and Local Policing Intelligence Hub worked together to secure evidence and make the arrest within 24 hours of receiving the first report.
Jake was sentenced to 10 weeks imprisonment by a District Judge for each offence, with the sentences to run consecutively.
Acting Inspector Steve Benbow, of Cheltenham Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This was a fantastic piece of work by all our officers, who received the calls in the morning and, by 10pm, had arrested and charged Ahmed.
“The three business have all been adversely affected by the actions of Ahmed. This shows that we will take robust action to ensure that anyone who commits these type of offences are brought to justice swiftly.”
