Officers are appealing for a woman to come forward after her dog bit an elderly woman in Gotherington near Bishop’s Cleeve last month.
It was reported that a woman in her 80s was outside of The Shutters Inn on Shutter Lane when a dog, which was off the lead, ran up to her and bit her right leg.
The dog, described as an orangey-brown Cockapoo or Labradoodle with a white muzzle, left the victim with puncture marks and bleeding to her lower calf area. She was also very shaken by what had happened.
Following the incident, which took place at around 12.05pm on Friday 22 November, the victim spoke to the dog’s owner who was with three women and three other dogs.
The owner of the dog said her name was Lou and that she was from Cheltenham. The victim wrote down the woman's details but has since misplaced them.
Enquiries to locate the woman have been unsuccessful and investigating officers are now asking the dog owner or anyone who was in the area or who saw what happened, to make contact.
