Officers are appealing for any outstanding witnesses to a collision in which a pedestrian suffered a serious head injury this afternoon.

A blue Mini Cooper, driven by a local woman, collided with the 21-year-old woman on Severnvale Drive just off the Tesco roundabout in Quedgeley at 1.10pm.

The pedestrian was subsequently taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for further assessment.

Motorists are being diverted around the scene by officers investigating the incident this afternoon.

Anyone who saw the collision but hasn't spoken to police should call 101 and quote incident 226 of 7 December.
