Officers are appealing for witnesses to an assault which left a man in his 50s needing hospital treatment for injuries to his face and head.

At approximately 7.15am on Thursday 12 October a man was assaulted next to a fast food trailer on Ashville Road in Gloucester. 

Any witnesses who haven't yet spoken to police are asked to call 101 or email 101@gloucestershire.police.uk and quote incident 68 of 12 October.

A 27-year-old man from Northampton was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, possession of class B drugs and driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs.

He has been released under investigation.
